Kind Words
What My Couples Say
“Mariana was amazing to work with! She was so helpful in planning a surprise proposal with me in Sintra — I wouldn’t have known where to begin without her assistance. The photos she captured of the proposal itself, as well as the photos we took around Monserrate Palace & Gardens, turned out so much better than we ever could’ve expected. She made us feel incredibly comfortable during the photo session and got us the final edited pictures quickly!”

Proposal photographer FAQ
How much does a proposal photographer in Portugal cost?
My proposal sessions start at €250 for a 30-minute shoot with 25 edited photos, and €350 for a one-hour shoot with 50 photos. Both cover Lisbon, Sintra and Cascais, with the edited gallery delivered within 2 days.
Should I propose in Lisbon, Sintra or Cascais?
Choose Lisbon for colourful streets and river viewpoints, Sintra for misty forests and fairytale palaces, and Cascais for wild cliffs and Atlantic sunsets. All three are within an hour of each other, so I’ll help you match the backdrop to your story and the light you love.
Where are the best places to propose?
In Lisbon: the Santa Luzia and Portas do Sol viewpoints, Alfama and Belém. In Sintra: Monserrate gardens, Peninha, the forest trails, Cabo da Roca and Praia da Adraga. In Cascais: Guincho Beach, Boca do Inferno and the clifftops. I match the spot to your story and the time of day for privacy.
How does a surprise proposal photoshoot work?
I stay hidden in the background and photograph the moment as it happens, so your partner has no idea. We agree in advance exactly where you’ll walk and where I’ll be positioned. Straight after the “yes,” we move into relaxed engagement portraits of the two of you.
When is the best time of day to propose?
Golden hour gives the softest light and the quietest locations. In Lisbon and Sintra, early morning is best to beat the crowds; in Cascais, sunset on the cliffs is the magic hour. Spring and autumn offer mild weather and fewer visitors across all three.
Do I need a permit to photograph a proposal in Sintra?
Some Sintra palaces charge a commercial photography fee and certain sites restrict professional shoots. I’ll tell you which locations are free, which have a fee, and which to avoid, so there are no surprises on the day.
How and when do I get my photos?
You receive your fully edited images within 48 hours in a private, password-protected online gallery you can download and share immediately with friends and family.
